LEARN PUNCH NEEDLE RUG HOOKING AT GOLDLEAF IN SOUTH PARK!

  • GOLDLEAF SOUTH PARK 2225 30th St. San Diego, CA 92104 (map)

Punch needle rug hooking--sometimes described as "painting with

wool"--is a versatile craft that began in the1880s. In this workshop, you

will make 2 “mug rugs” (a.k.a. a fancy coaster!) one for you and one to

share! In the process you’ll learn how to use a punch needle, how to

create the correct size stitch with the needle, and how to hem your

finished project. By the end of class you will have the basic skills

necessary to make larger wall hangings, pillows, and rugs.

Your class fee includes a kit (60$ retail value) with all the tools and materials you will need:

• #10 Oxford Punch Needle

• no - slip hoop

• 2 patterns drawn on monks cloth

• 100% wool rug yarn, naturally dyed by hand

• Re-usable PUNCH! project bag for your project

This class will be taught by Certified Oxford Punch Needle Instructor Christie Beniston and held at Gold Leaf in the South Park neighborhood of San Diego. Light snacks and Punch (of the drinkable variety) will be served!
